Where the hands meet the clay
Sculptural ceramics in organic forms, sometimes vessels, sometimes objects, at times vibrant, always made to be lived with and loved.
About the Artist
How I Work
I see my studio time as a chance to explore all the little treasures the water leaves behind. I love spending time looking at the shapes and weight of stones I find along the shore, then trying to recreate that organic feeling in my clay. I focus on those soft curves and weathered textures that tell a story about the passing tide. Every piece i make starts from a real moment in nature and grows into its own small landscape - something meant for you to hold, turn over in your hands, and enjoy in your home everyday.
I don't really focus on how useful these pieces are in traditional sense. Sure some might hold few flowers or sit on your coffee table, but they aren't meant for just one job. I like to think of them as quiet friends - simple, thoughtful objects that remind you to slow down. They live in that lovely middle ground between a sculpture and a bowl, where they way they feel and the memories they spark are more important than what they do.
My process is really just about paying attention to the world and finding the beauty in small things. I make these because I truly believe our homes should be filled with more than just stuff; they should hold meaningful pieces that feel like they they have a history and a soul.
If any of my work speaks to you, I'd love to chat. Feel free to reach out if you want to talk about a custom project or if you would like to stop by my studio. I'd be happy to help you to find the right piece to bring into your own space.
